the drawing in the background is the notorious riceball-turned-doughnut edit from Pokemon. Sometimes 4Kids would replace riceballs with pictures of sandwiches, pictures of CRACKERS, (which makes the fact that Roketto-Dan only had one riceball left look like a feast compared to Team Rocket's meal of a single cracker), or they would only change the dialouge: "WOW do I love these doughnuts!!" It's a very dumb edit, 'cuz all you have to do is say riceball, and kids will go, "riceball... whassat? oh well, Ash eats it, it must be good! 8D"
Anyway, made this on a whim xD; You may use it all you like -^^-
Yeah, when I was little I didn't understand that one dialouge edit. 'How the fuck is that a doughnut? That is one weird looking doughnut. Why are they packing the doughnuts?'
It took a friend of mine to explain that THE TV LIED TO ME! ;o;
So if anything, 4kids just made things even more confusing that way. And then came the edits. XD
The TV's a liar!! DD: ugh, yes, that is definitely up there with the stupidest edits ever made >o> A bit behind erasing the kanji on Kasumi's fan when she was dressed in a KIMONO at a SUMMER FESTIVAL. You ever seen [link] ? It's got one of the biggest and best databases of Pokemon episode comparisons evar *o*
I remember that!! when I was in 3rd grade I watched pokemon like, religiously, and they called riceballs donuts...I was like "are those what donuts are like in japan? @o@" lmfao

I agree. It makes it look cheesier and the voices are usually terrible. Unfortunately it's hard to find good subtitled anime in America without going on YouTube.

I wonder if our troops on the northern border of 4kids territory made them give the rights to Cartoon Network? Well I'm sure if CN had more money then it would make pokemon better, or at least like the good ol' days!
*sigh*, unfortunately, that's only half the case. CN does have the rights to broadcast Pokemon, but it isn't dubbing it. The new dubbers are PokemonUSA, or PUSA, and they're doing an almost as foul job as 4Kids, in my opinion >~>;;

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
Discussing page views, activity and popularity, ~ChaoticSkye explores the inner workings of the community on deviantART from her point of view.
Although this does not apply to everyone, we hope the article is a worthwhile read and that the majority perceive things from a different point of view from reading this.
