aph+hp: Four Founders by Kaede-chama aph+hp: Four Founders by Kaede-chama
Four Founders, Four Ancients. Drew something like this ages ago on tegaki and I guess rereading Harry Potter and getting on an Ancients kick simultaneously made me wanna reboot it.

I gave them all ~ancient~ versions of the Founders’ Artifacts, y’know, the sword, diadem, cup, and locket. Germania ended up with more of a torque than a locket, but it is still shaped like a snake! And I used to worry that Kemet got shunted to Hufflepuff and didn’t really match it, but y’know… her people had bucketloads of loyalty and hardworking spirit, churning out all those buildings for their kings! Because remember, the Pyramids were built by paid labor, no slaves.

 Well, Germania *does* look similar to Lucius Malfoy. XD
The concept is pretty cool, but personality-wise I think the sword would fit Germania, the cup would be good for Rome and the locket *may* work for Egypt. History-wise, Egypt and Rome would fight for top slot in Slytherin. The nobles would stab each other in the back and they weren't exactly nice to non-Romans or non-Egyptians.

You know, I think the Roman Empire and the Germanic tribes should switch places, Rome was far more a nation of bureaucratic backstabbers with a racist twinge against everybody who wasn't able to show off a diploma proving that the holder was Roman.

At the same time they let the Germanic tribes hold enough power by working as mercenaries for the Roman army that they were eventually backstabbed themselves by their former allies and attacked by their own mercenaries.

Also Rome wears gold and red and Germania wears green.

It was more like the Romans abused the fact that the Germans weren't used to how politics worked in Rome, of course when the Germans found out they would not get a fair treatment they went rampaging and obliterated the Roman army after which they were appeased (for a while) by the Emperor with false promises (again) by Theodocius I. But the reputation of invincibility the Romans had was gone.
Theo could keep up appearances, but he died before his sons knew what the word 'politics' meant.
Honorius panicked, opened the gates for everybody who was drumming to get in by calling the legions to fight the Visigoths, now lead by Alaric (who plundered Rome) plus Honorius became paranoid and murdered the only man between him and Alaric. But Alaric died after sacking Rome and the Visigoths were assigned (by the Romans) a new homeland, Spain where the Vandals had settled. The Visigoths and the Roman army 'relocated' the Vandals to Northern Africa.
The Vandals weren't happy took to the sea and sacked Rome, again after the Roman emperor killed only man who could have prevented it.
Odovacar the guy who sent Romulus Augustus away because he didn't like the fact that the Eastern-Roman Emperor took more then his fair share out of the common treasury the two empires still had. officially the Roman Empire died on that day. Yet there comes Theodoric and he repairs much of the damage done by the actions of last centuries.

It's more like the Romans stabbed themselves to death. Even though historians are actually not sure whether the Roman Empire fell, or just evolved. The Emperor of the Frankish Empire was Emperor of Rome, equally so for the Holy Roman Empire and today if you study Law, you'll study Roman Law first.

"Also Rome wears gold and red and Germania wears green." That's not an argument, besides there have not been many Roman legions that actually wore red coloured tunics. White was commonplace (cheap).

I am not a Roman history major. I'm a nerdy art student who likes to read up on ancient history and culture in my spare time and honestly I enjoy the Greek and Egyptian better. I based this piece far more on how the characters are portrayed in the series than anything else.

Yes, but in Hetalia, Rome and Germania wear a red cape with gold-colored armor and a green cloak, respectively. There's historical canon and there's the comic's canon, and sometimes you reach a fork in the road and go with one or the other.
