classwork: velocipede by Kaede-chama classwork: velocipede by Kaede-chama
Bike poster for my final project in Illustration class. The original is actually of different dimensions, I had to edit it heavily in photoshop to make everything work. Itís for a nice little bike shop hidden away in Portland, they have the cutest bikes! Not that I ride bikes at all, but yeah, cute bikes.

(this is just a generic Greek lady, nobody in particular)

done in cake watercolor with india ink over the top and photoshop mucking about

Love this! I like the limited palette and the balance of simplified shapes and little intricate details.

so wonderful!! I love your adaptations of ancient Greek artwork :iconilikeitplz:
This whole composition is so clever, from the flying grears to the city below her.
I love your work because it is always put together so cleverly, and they always have wonderful movement and emotions the viewer can feel by looking at your work.
I also love your clever additions, in such a setting " a traditonal work with modern touches"
If a bike did exist in ancient Greece this is what it would look like!! The patterns on the wheels and black figure vase are such cute touches and so is the Greek text written at the top :D
Magnificent work as always ~Kaede-chama I truly look up to you.

Thank you! I have a lot of fun tweaking the old style to suit my needs, haha.

Funnily enough the gears were originally wheels... and I was like 'no, no I do not want to draw any more wheels 8n8'

Thank you, thank you! Pleased you noticed them! You're too kind. ;3;

Its really clever and unique :D you have come such a long way since I first stumbled upon your page :D you've really developed a unique style as well as a universal feeling of happiness in all of your works, that express the person that you truly are. I really do admire that in your work =]
