icha icha 10 meme: mamaroma

Okay so way back in the summer of 2010 I started in on a pixiv(?) meme I'd dug up somewhere. I got most of the way through in stops and starts, and then just... stopped. So last week I started again in earnest and filled in the last three spaces, wooo~

So! The icha icha 10 meme, which is various ways of hugging, apparently. I can't tell you where I got the template because I didn't use a blank template, I erased a filled one and stuck in some teeny translations that I surmised from a couple other examples of the meme floating around on here. So I wouldn't advise using mine, since it's been tampered with ;;;

Did it with Mama Greece/Hellas and Rome from Hetalia, and decided to up the challenge by using colourlovers palettes in each one. Sadly I can't remember the names, though I did try to go for stuff with keywords like ancient or what have you, just for fun. I also tried to get some accurate history into each one, like the hat Hellas has in the second panel. (though I must admit, I have yet to properly figure out a dang toga.)

Hahaaa you can totally see where my art takes a giant leap, I've refined my style since last summer :'D

I'm going to upload these as single deviations as well, ifya don't mind, since man I had to really shrink and crop them for the panels, I want you to see my full work! Even if I'm not so proud of some of the older ones anymore, ah well.
